These range from hunting and fishing to cross-country skiing/biking along back roads and hiking through the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, including bird watching, visiting local bee apiaries and an excellent setting for wildlife seeking photographers.
Cowanesque Lake is just across the Bliss Road at the foot of the Lodge property. This 1090-acre man-made reservoir is open to the public for swimming, boating, fishing (including ice fishing), hunting and an interpretive nature trail. The Tompkins Park Area on the north shore of the lake is about a mile from the Lodge.
Located about five miles from the Lodge, Tioga-Hammond Lakes offers trails for biking, hiking and cross country skiing and a 14-target, 1-mile archery course.
The Lodge is centrally located for easy access to several major recreational facilities and attractions. Examples include the Corning Glass and Rockwell Museums in Corning, Watkins Glen and the Finger Lakes Wine Country, and five public golf courses within fifteen miles.
This is an all seasons operation with peak demand for accommodations expected during hunting season, fall foliage, summer vacation and weekends when special events are scheduled (i.e. local rodeo, motor-cross racing, professional softball tournaments, sporting clays, bird dog training and hunting. Also, other local calendar of events from various surrounding communities). During the summer, the Lodge also draws campers from the nearby campgrounds.
The lounge, with its big screen television and surround sound system serves as a dedicated sports bar for major televised national sporting events (i.e. World Series, Super Bowl, Monday night football, boxing, major race car circuit races,….).
The business benefits greatly from word of mouth and continues to build its reputation for quality services offered in a unique/memorable setting.
